Educational Seminars

For those interested, my office conducts two different seminars. One seminar focuses on entity formation. The other seminar focuses on estate planning. Please see below for details regarding the seminars.

SEMINAR #1: A GUIDE TO ONLINE ENTITY FORMATION

I offer a one day seminar, held the third Saturday of each month, starting February 16^th, 2008, on how to form a Corporation or L.L.C. in Washington State online. Further, I instruct participants on how to complete the following online:

1. Master Business License Application.
2. City Business Registration.
3. Obtaining a Federal Tax Identification Number.
4. Electing to be taxed as an S corporation.

The course will take participants through a step-by-step online LLC and Corporation filing, as well as a step-by-step online Master Business License Application. Additionally, I instruct class participants on the nature of the following:

1. Shareholder Agreements, LLC Operating Agreements, Partnership Agreements.
2. Corporate Bylaws and Organization Meeting and Meeting Minutes.

The class is approximately two hours in length.

Professionals: Online entity formation is an excellent way to bypass a lot of the cost and time involved in manual paper entity formation.

SEMINAR #2: THE IMPORTANCE OF ESTATE AND FINANCIAL PLANNING.

I offer a one day seminar, held once each quarter, starting February 28^th, 2008, on the basic documents necessary to proper estate planning. The seminar will be hosted by me and Waddell and Reed Financial Planner Jodie Beatty.

The course will explain the nature of the following documents:

1. Wills.
2. Living Trusts.
3. Powers of Attorney, both financial and health.
4. Health Care Directives.
5. Community Property Agreements.

Further, Ms. Beatty will provide an explanation of some important financial planning tools, which often serve and complement the estate planning process.

The class is approximately one and a half hours in length.
